  1. Seems to me president Biden's new immigration policies are "working as expected" if not totally "working as intended"... U.S. Customs and Border Protection: Yuma, Arizona sector Yuma Sector BP Agents Arrest Group of Iranians Release Date: February 3, 2021 YUMA, Ariz. – Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents arrested a group of 11 Iranian citizens who illegally crossed the border into the United States Monday evening. At approximately 6 p.m., BP agents encountered the group near San Luis, Arizona, on a bridge near County 21st Street and the Salinity Canal. Agents determined the group had illegally crossed the international border into the U.S. The group was arrested and taken to Yuma Station for processing. The five females and six males are were all from Iran, a Special Interest Country. Yuma Sector agents regularly encounter people from all over the world, including Special Interest Countries. Agents adjudicate each arrest in accordance with law and policy in order to secure our nation’s borders. For the last two fiscal years, Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents have led the nation in apprehending illegal crossers from Iran. Yuma Sector agents apprehended eight Iranian nationals in FY2020, compared to just 14 from all other border patrol sectors combined. So far in FY2021, Yuma Sector agents have apprehend 14 nationals from Iran. The primary mission of the Border Patrol is to prevent nefarious people and devices from entering the United States. Iran is a designated Special Interest Country and the agents of Yuma Sector work diligently to protect our borders for the safety of our nation. 2. Latin Times: (Jun 29 2022) Drug Traffickers Busted With 150,000 Fentanyl Pills In California, Released Days Later Officials said that two drug traffickers in California were arrested last week for possessing 150,000 fentanyl pills, but are now back on the streets. During a traffic stop-turned-drug bust in Tulare on Friday, Benito Madrigal, 19, and Jose Zendejas, 25, both from Washington, were arrested, reported Fox News. Officials said that the two men were booked into the Tulare County Pre-Trial Facility on charges of possession, transportation and selling of drugs that are not legal. The two inmates were released just days later, surprising everyone. Officials said that the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office was given a court order to release the men from "custody on their own recognizance." The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office added that all inmates booked into Tulare County jails are sent through the "Risk Assessment Process through the Tulare County Probation Department." The office further said that that "Risk Assessment" is then sent to a judge with the court, who, then, "determines whether or not the individual arrested is held on bail or if they are to be released." Sheriff Mike Boudreaux said that he strongly disagrees with the decision to release the traffickers, citing public safety concerns, but said that his office was forced to comply with the court order. As many as 150 packages with 1,000 fentanyl pills in each were found, and they are enough to potentially take lives of several million people. According to ABC4News, officials said that each pill sells for about $5, so the total was $750,000. https://www.latintimes.com/drug-traffickers-busted-150000-fentanyl-pills-california-released-days-later-519389 HotAir: Surprise! 3. Earlier this year New York City mayor, Eric Adams maintained an executive order that saw a continuance of his predecessor, Bill de Blasio order that saw more than 1,750 public service employees, teachers and others employed in the NYC fired, for not getting the COVID vaccine... In a ruling that surprised few who have been keeping up with the story, Staten Island Supreme Court Justice Ralph Porzio wrote in a decision: "“It is time for the City of New York to do what is right and what is just,” ordering the reinstatement with back pay for employees fired for not voluntarily getting Covid vaccine shots. In the 13-page ruling, Judge Porzio said then-city Health Commissioner David Chokshi’s Oct. 20, 2021, order “violates the separation of powers doctrine” enshrined in the NY state constitution and also violated the workers’ “substantive and procedural due process rights” and didn’t have “the power and authority to permanently exclude [them] from their workplace,”. Of course the Mayor's office says they plan to appeal the ruling, but this leads me to question what if any effect this might have on the thousands of other, private company employees, public service employees and former members of the military who also refused to comply with mandatory vaccine mandates from their employers? As time marches on and more information becomes available we've learned the COVID vaccine isn't really a vaccine at all and doesn't keep everyone who gets the shot from getting COVID, plenty of people have had the shot(s) and still get COVID {Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Eric Adams, etc.}, multiple times, so perhaps it's a therapeutic... a medicine given to people after they contract an illness to help them mitigate the effects of their illness... which isn't completely accurate either because governments and health officials have instructed or mandated people receive the COVID shot before they get sick. We were told by the president and health officials if we get vaccinated we wouldn't get COVID... that was false. We were told by the president and health officials if we get vaccinated we wouldn't die from COVID... that was false. We were told by the president and health officials if we get vaccinated we wouldn't spread COVID... that was false too. To my way of thinking COVID shots are much like flu shots, in some cases it may help the recipient to avoid infection, but that's not guaranteed - In some instances if a person who's had the shot does become infected it may help the recipient to have less severe symptoms, but that's not guaranteed either. Flu shots do nothing to keep an infected person from spreading the illness and even with an onboard flu vaccine, complications can arise that would still wind up being terminal for the recipient... This doesn't mean COVID is no more dangerous than the common flu, because it is... but then the common flu is also much more dangerous and deadly than the common cold, causing on average hundreds of thousands of deaths, either directly or indirectly from flu related symptoms every year... but few attempt the same heavy handed, overreaching restrictions with the flu as they've done with COVID.

  5. NPR: COVID remains a public health emergency for now, the WHO and Biden administration say The World Health Organization and the Biden administration are both saying that COVID-19 remains a public health emergency, even as global deaths from the virus have reached the lowest levels since March 2020. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced on Tuesday the extension of the nation's own, separate public health emergency declaration for COVID-19 for 90 days. This allows for federal funding to be used for tests, vaccines, and certain treatments for people covered by Medicare and Medicaid health insurance programs. Private insurers were also required to cover all costs associated with COVID tests and vaccines thanks to public health emergency funding. This would change once the health declaration is lifted in the U.S. The Biden administration on Wednesday also announced the extension of the nationwide face mask requirement for public transit for another 15 days from when it was scheduled to expire. Travelers will still need to mask up in airports, planes, buses, trains and at transit hubs until at least May 3. The decision was made in response to the increasing spread of the omicron subvariant in the U.S. The nation has seen an uptick in the 7-day moving average of cases. In other news the Biden administration has announced it will officially end Title 42 immigration restrictions in May 23, 2023 allowing more of those seeking to enter the United States to remain... But federal TSA requirements for masking on domestic flights and masking restrictions for access into federal facilities remain. NPR: The U.S. is ending its pandemic border rules. It could mean a surge in migration The Biden administration is moving to end sweeping pandemic border restrictions known as Title 42 on May 23. The official announcement came Friday in an order from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The spread of COVID-19 by migrants apprehended at the U.S.-Mexico border has "ceased to be a serious danger to the public health," CDC Director Rochelle Walensky wrote. There have already been high numbers of apprehensions at the border, even during the pandemic — a number affected in part by how Title 42 works. If a migrant is expelled at the border under Title 42, there's no penalty or formal mark on their record. That has led many migrants to make repeated attempts to cross, hoping to avoid border patrol. Many expect that lifting Title 42 will propel even more people to try to cross the border. With that restriction gone, smugglers and cartels in Central America will likely tell migrants it means that the border is open. In a letter to DHS last week, a group of Republican senators, led by Florida's Rick Scott, asked about the agency's preparations for "the anticipated surge of illegal border crossings." They said Title 42 had been "an effective deterrent" to such crossings. DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has repeatedly said that Title 42 is a public health measure, not an immigration policy. NPR reports: "a group of Republican senators..." have petitioned the DHS and the Biden administration to leave Title 42 in place for now. What they don't report is there is a growing list of Democrat Congresspersons who have also petitioned the Biden administration to leave Title 42 in place, so factually this is a bipartisan effort to keep Title 42 restrictions in place not just Republicans objecting to reopening the borders... Add to that, DHS Secretary Mayorkas himself has admitted there's likely to be an increase in the number of people attempting to cross the Southern border and currently neither the DHS nor CBP are prepared for the expected increase in legal - and illegal border traffic to the point where some in the DHS and Biden administration have reportedly considered taking health professionals away from Veteran Administration health and medical care facilities (instead of using the military or national guard) to care for foreign nationals crossing the border... On average there is a 22 days to 42 days wait time for veterans to be seen at many VA care facilities due to the lack of available medical staff and facilities. Recently several Congressional Republicans submitted a letter to Department of Homeland Security's Secretary, Alejandro Mayorkas asking him to confirm or deny plans to take VA health professionals out of VA facilities and use them to care for the expected increased migrant surge when Title 42 ends. A proposal I some how doubt will increase Biden's popularity among many of the nation's Veterans, their families, relatives, friends and a lot of active duty personnel.
  6. NBC: Biden admin will officially end Covid restriction {Title 24} at border on May 23 Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas formally announced on Friday that families and single adult asylum seekers who had been turned away at the U.S.-Mexico border since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic will have their chance to enter the U.S. and make an asylum claim starting May 23. NBC News reported on Wednesday that sources familiar with the planning said the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention had notified DHS that it would terminate the controversial public health rule known as Title 42 that has blocked more than 1.7 million attempts to cross the border. **Anyone willing to take a bet the United States will 'unexpectedly' see a surge in COVID cases shortly after May?
  7. ABC News: COVID hospitalizations and deaths surge in Los Angeles County As the recent COVID-19 wave begins to ebb on the East Coast and in the Midwest, Los Angeles County is still being battered by the virus. The county reported 102 new COVID deaths Thursday, the highest number recorded in a single day since March 10, 2021, and more than double the 45 fatalities reported one week ago. COVID hospitalizations are also on the rise, with 4,814 recorded Thursday, a figure not seen since Feb. 2, 2021. Of those patients, nearly one-third are in intensive care units, an increase from the week before.
  8. Associated Press: Supreme Court halts COVID-19 vaccine rule for US businesses WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court has stopped the Biden administration from enforcing a requirement that employees at large businesses be vaccinated against COVID-19 or undergo weekly testing and wear a mask on the job. At the same time, the court is allowing the administration to proceed with a vaccine mandate for most health care workers in the U.S. The court’s orders Thursday during a spike in coronavirus cases was a mixed bag for the administration’s efforts to boost the vaccination rate among Americans. The court's conservative majority concluded the administration overstepped its authority by seeking to impose the vaccine-or-test rule on U.S. businesses with at least 100 employees. More than 80 million people would have been affected.

  10. I'm not intending to make light of anyone who has contracted or has become infected with COVID but some situations seem too ironic to fail to mention them. COVID is no respecter of person or political persuasion. It is a recorded and reported fact Republicans who oppose and don't follow vaccine and mask mandates have contracted the virus... Sometimes less spoken of and less reported are Democrats who, according to them, try to rigorously follow vaccine and mask mandates but have also contracted COVID. Like I said, my intention is not to make light or wish ill on anyone regarding COVID, however after a recent vitriolic tweet from AOC after people called her out for recreating 'maskless' in Florida, Ocasio-Cortez's office Tweeted that the New York House of Representative has tested positive for COVID... you can't make this stuff up. Unsurprisingly AOC is being mercilessly mocked for 'partying in Florida' on Twitter and other social media platforms... whether AOC honestly thought her vaccinations would be enough to protect her, even though we know that hasn't been the case for many people, or just didn't think before engaging in questionable, possibly harmful activities is all speculation unless we hear from the Rep herself. But I've got to say, to date one of my favorite Twitter responses to the announcement from AOC's office has been - "I guess COVID just wanted to 'date' her" *Now just to be clear, this comment is about the response to the AOC office tweet, not AOC having COVID* I wish AOC a quick and complete recovery from her suspected infection... and I also hope she continues to make snarky remarks that come back to bite her in the......
  11. I have always said in as much as possible it should be private businesses and business owners who should be able to make the rules for their establishments, not governments or government agencies spewing out 'cookie cutter' regulations for every business, everywhere... Such is now the case for business mask and vaccine mandates for employees and customers. I'll start off by saying my personal opinion is I feel it's wrong for the federal government to force mask mandates on every business in the in the nation, even if by this point it's only being imposed on businesses with 100+ employees by way of president Biden's slight of hand OSHA mandate instead of a presidential Executive Order which he's probably been informed would be an illegal overreach and unconstitutional or a federal law proposed and delivered to the president's desk by the United States Congress. I am as I said in favor of businesses being able to set terms and conditions for their employees as a condition for being hired and remaining employed. ABC: Louisiana Supreme Court upholds employer vaccine mandate The Louisiana Supreme Court has upheld a COVID-19 vaccine mandate for the state's largest healthcare system. Louisiana's highest court said Ochsner Health employees don’t have a legal reason to sue because the state gives employers the right to fire anyone as long as the reason doesn’t violate other laws or the state or federal constitution. Here we have a case of a business deciding as a condition of employment with them employees must be vaccinated which I find in my mind to be right and proper... Seems pretty simple to me if anyone disagrees with a company's requirements or restrictions for employment they are free to seek employment somewhere else and the company has a legal right to terminate that person's employment for non compliance. CNN: Supreme Court appears poised to block Biden's vaccine and testing rules for businesses Two of former President Donald Trump's nominees, Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, questioned whether a federal agency could issue a regulation with such vast economic and political significance without the clear authorization of Congress. Chief Justice John Roberts seemed to agree on that point by wondering if the government had responded on an "agency by agency" basis, in order to get around the fact that Congress and some states had failed to act. Here we have the federal government attempting to force one of their one size fits all mandates on private businesses through one of the federal government's agencies which may well be determined to be overly broad, and improper. We'll have to wait for the Supreme Court's decision to see what's up with that. There has been and remains so much misinformation and straight up false information being fed to the public and unfortunately in some cases from the very health officials and elected politicians we should be able to turn to for facts to make us better informed. Even a Supreme Court Justice seems to be willing to spout false information to achieve some kind of agenda - President Biden still appearing to push the narrative that the COVID infection surge is solely at the feet of the unvaccinated when "the science" has been presented that even fully vaccinated individuals seem to be just as capable of contracting and spreading the infection as unvaccinated people* but some claim vaccinated people spread the infection more because they often (but not always) suffer contagious symptoms longer*. Which is not a simple matter of semantics. On July 16, 2021 president Biden said at a press conference: “Look, the only pandemic we have is among the unvaccinated,” Biden said. At the same presser the president also said of social media platforms" "They're killing people" to which Kevin McAlister, a spokesperson for the Facebook social media platform replied: “We will not be distracted by accusations which aren’t supported by the facts. The fact is that more than 2 billion people have viewed authoritative information about COVID-19 and vaccines on Facebook, which is more than any other place on the internet.” For nearly a year now the Southern border has been more porous than previous years, people entering the United Stated from less developed countries from Central America and around the globe. These people, most of whom are unvaccinated have been allowed to enter the U.S. and for the most part have been untested and transported all across the country. Biden's attempt at federal vaccine mandates aside, from what I've read any foreign national entering the country along the Southern border is given the choice to refuse vaccines. ABC: No, migrants in immigrant detention facilities are not required to get the COVID-19 vaccine Immigration and Customs Enforcement says it “cannot force individuals in detention to be vaccinated” but does encourage vaccinations. https://www.abc10.com/article/news/verify/immigration/no-vaccine-mandate-immigration-detention-facilities-migrant-undocumented-workers-not-compel-to-get-vaccination Migrants are being allowed to enter the country without being tested and without being vaccinated, in some states unvaccinated citizens aren't being allowed to shop in stores without showing proof of vaccination. Migrants, again many unvaccinated and untested are being shuttled all over the country by the federal government on military and chartered flights however White House Press Secretary, Jen Psaki recently told MSNBC's Jonathan Lemire that the president would consider imposing a vaccine mandate on citizens for domestic travel " if the health impact was overwhelming, and he gets a recommendation to do so from medical experts." President Biden has repeatedly pointed his finger at unvaccinated citizens as the cause and culprit for the spread of the Coronavirus but hasn't said a word, nor as many in the press seemed interested in asking the president about the millions of untested and unvaccinated foreign nationals allowed into the U.S. and dispersed around the country. If masking, testing and vaccination is so very imperative that president Biden is seriously considering forcing a federal mandate on every American citizen, how then could he even consider allowing millions of untested, and unvaccinated foreigners to enter the country to begin with - be transported all across the country and be given the choice to opt-out of getting the vaccination?

  13. ABC-NY: Biden announces new COVID vaccine mandates for 100 million Americans In his most forceful pandemic actions and words, President Joe Biden on Thursday announced sweeping new federal vaccine requirements affecting as many as 100 million Americans in an all-out effort to increase COVID-19 vaccinations and curb the surging delta variant. abc7ny.com/biden-speech-today-live-preisdent-press-conference-executive-order-vaccine-federal-workers FOX: Biden plan for forced vaccinations doesn't include illegal immigrants About 30% of illegal immigrants detained at the border refuse to be vaccinated President Biden announced a sweeping plan that could force millions of unvaccinated Americans to get the COVID-19 shot but left out mandating the vaccine for illegal immigrants crossing the border. Biden announced Thursday that all employers with more than 100 employees will be forced to either require their employees get vaccinated against COVID-19 or mandate weekly testing for the virus. The president also announced that the remaining 17 million healthcare workers employed in facilities that receive federal Medicare or Medicaid also will have to be fully vaccinated. Together, the two groups represent about 100 million Americans. "We've been patient, but our patience is wearing thin," Biden said of the roughly 80 million Americans who have yet to get the shot. "While America is in much better shape than it was seven months ago when I took office, I need to tell you a second fact: We're in a tough stretch and it could last for awhile." But Biden stopped short of mandating the vaccine for illegal immigrants attempting to cross America's border, even though about 30% of immigrants held at federal detention facilities are refusing to be vaccinated — and {unlike American citizens,} they have the option to refuse {without being restricted from work or losing benefits}. Biden's new rules for employers with over 100 employees will be issued through the Labor Department, the president said. The president also threatened hefty fines for employers that fail to comply with the mandate. foxnews.com/politics/biden-plan-for-forced-vaccinations-doesnt-include-illegal-immigrants In related news... NBC: Aug. 7, 2021 18 percent of migrant families leaving Border Patrol custody tested positive for Covid, document says In addition, over 25 percent of migrants recently scheduled for some “expedited” deportation flights tested positive, says a document obtained by NBC News. More than 18 percent of migrant families and 20 percent of unaccompanied minors who recently crossed the U.S. border tested positive for Covid on leaving Border Patrol custody over the past two to three weeks, according to a document prepared this week for a Thursday briefing with President Joe Biden. Some flights scheduled to deport migrants had more than 25 percent of passengers test positive before departure As of Wednesday, more than 15,000 migrants were in Border Patrol custody, according to Customs and Border Protection data obtained by NBC News. nbcnews.com/politics/immigration/18-percent-migrant-families-leaving-border-patrol-custody-tested-positive As I see it there are few plausible possibilities... Migrants detained at federal and NGO facilities and have tested positive are contracting the virus from U.S. workers at those facilities... Migrants who tested positive have contracted the virus were infected by other detainees at those facilities... The migrants who tested positive were infected prior to arriving at those detention facilities... Also: Thousands of foreign nationals who have entered the United States illegally have been diagnosed with Covid. Thousands of foreign nationals who have been diagnosed with Covid have been released in the U.S. after being diagnosed with Covid. Migrants and those in the country illegally (they're not "migrants") can refuse Coronavirus vaccination that Biden hopes to make mandatory for Americans and people in the country legally. According to the information from the above articles, president Biden is working very hard to mandate everyone in the United States legally - citizens and foreign legal residents, become vaccinated. If they don't they could lose their jobs, be denied access to domestic commercial travel, education, federal benefits and in the case of employers with more than 100 workers, face large punitive federal fines.
