Broom Hilda
A federal judge has ruled against a Joplin woman who was suing Home Depot for negligence allegedly leading to the deaths of her husband and two children in the May 22, 2011, tornado that struck Joplin. http://www.joplinglobe.com/news/judge-rules-against-joplin-woman-in-suit-against-home-depot/article_7d2e8efe-5025-11e6-b925-af1c725070b1.html
DUDE
I saw this tonight on KSN my thoughts would be a stretch for HB to be negligent would be the maker of the wall panels and HD. My question did the family get a settlement? No amount of $$$ compensates for the loss of a loved on IMO!
Don
I too thought that trying to sue Home Depot for trying to provide a safe shelter for people during a tornado was a bit much myself... But people have a tendency to express their grief in a variety of ways I suppose.
Broom Hilda
No settlement. I never thought she had a chance of winning. I feel sorry for her and her family. Not many buildings, if any, in tornado alley can withstand a tornado of that magnitude.

I do know that she has remarried and has two children now. They will never replace the two she lost. Hopefully she will put this (lawsuit) behind her and move on.
